Buy once cry once
Posted by Tyler on 24th Jun 2017
Second set first review
Got my first set 2 maybe 3 years ago idea was for day hikes and camping then i started carrying it everyday I justify the second kit living in AZ
37oz metal bottle and cup nest up nice
Wide narrow necked and mouth didn't think I'd like that but I can fill it up and drink without taking a bath
If the price is what your hung up on just know the heavy cover kit is far superior to any other combo and is well worth the money

Great Canteen and Cup Set
Posted by David on 19th Jun 2017
I love that the Canteen comes with a Titanium cap and the lid for the cup fits so well. I don't have any problems cooking a meal out of the cup and I boil my water right in the Canteen. My new favorite piece of gear.

Nice and light

I am a titanium fan, partly for the cool factor to be admitted, but also light, strong and rust proof.... It is very expensive though. The entire thing is a great system but the cup, you won't be able to cook anything but something small. Still, overall a great system.

Functional art

I absolutely hate the fact that I love this thing so much, really, I'm afraid of ruining it! Not that it's not tough, it is, but I just want to keep it as new which is exactly the opposite of its purpose in use. I agree with others that if you buy this first you'll save money on a collection of useless items. Very practical in every sense wether it be camping or survival, winter or summer. One of, if not the favourite item in my kit. Came with a spork which made the purchase even better. Thanks Chris for a great product.

Awesome gear

Ive only gotten to use it once since getting it last week but man i couldn't be happier. Sure it is a little pricey but the quality is unmatched and should last me a lifetime. I just switched to using a canteen setup i purchased a mother canteen carrier and paired it with a bushcraft essentials bushbox. Man everything i need in a lightweight setup at my hip is sweet. I highly recommend it.

expensive but lifetime use
Posted by George Miedema on 4th May 2017
The HC canteen is everything it says it is and more. If general care is taken it should last a lifetime. It can serve as a complete mess kit or it can be used in conjunction with a traditional mess kit. I found the price to be a little high but I know I'll never have to buy it again. It would be nice though if it came with a carry pack. It does fit in a traditional canteen carrier which is very nice.

My favorite ultralight cook-set!
Posted by Shaughn Belmore on 1st May 2017
First I need to take a second to say what a pleasure it is to do business with folks like Chris at Heavy Cover. Had a delivery issue and called Chris who didn't even flinch and reassured me that they would make it sure I received a cook-set. Chris's offer to support me on an issue outside his control showed me great integrity and superior business ethic, if for no other reason than the integrity to do whats right I will continue to purchase equipment from these nice folks. Now onto the cookset!!! :-) The cook-set is bomber, ultralight, durable and transfers heat faster than any other material I have used in the back-country, both from propane and bio fuels. I enjoy the nested feature and the whole set fits neatly in my packs side pouch. The cook pot balances well on my square titanium bio-stove and when placed directly into the fire. So far no dents or dings but have only used on two overnight trips into the mountains. Looking forward to years of cooking outdoors with this super lightweight cook set!
PS: I didn't know it at the time but have since discovered that the business was founded by a veteran of the USMC, (have great respect for the fine men and women who give up their own freedoms to defend ours by serving...dad was Gunnery Sgt at the end of the Korean War and taught his sons of the history of the Corps)

Finally got one!
Posted by Paul B on 25th Apr 2017
I saved my pennies and managed to get the funding for the Ti canteen with cup and lid. Its so light! It holds 1.4 liters so its less stops to fill up if you are thirsty like me. Feels solid and quality made. If you want the hyper car of canteen kits, this is the one.
