To Titanium or not to Titanium that is the question

The Heavy Cover Titanium Canteen Mess kit is a home run for my needs. Over the years I've used mostly Stainless steel but more and more I find myself looking to lighting my pack weight with out compromising on strength and durability. There are times however where I feel the need to bring more gear so the weight savings with this kit helps that transfer to being able to do so. The design is simple, well thought out and cleanly done. The fit and finish is perfect. It fits in a standard USGI molle pouch great. I'd like to also address the elephant in the room... The price. Yeah it's a lot of money for sure but for my needs/wants it was worth it. I don't plan to give up this whole camping/going into the woods thing anytime soon so it's nice to have a high quality piece of gear I enjoy using. I'm not saying you need to spend a lot of money to enjoy such things but I've wanted this kit for years and have been tucking a little money aside here and there so when I made my purchase I really didn't feel the financial effect from it at all. To conclude if you have any interest in titanium gear and or a canteen kit I think this is worth considering. Hope it helped.

I have the kit for a few weeks now and it has quickly moved into my number 1 carry kit. The boil time is noticeably faster using my MSR pocket rocket. (Also cool down is faster) built like a tank and with the exception of the rubber seals this thing will be able to be passed down to the next generation. Thank you Heavy cover for putting out an AMAZING piece of kit!!.

OK, I admit it. I bought this canteen kit because it was trendy on my forum and looked like good quality gear. That's about all the thought I put into it.
Then it came and I didn't know what to do with it, or how to work it into my loadout (I already had a water bottle, I already had a cup). I actually thought about sending it back, since I wasn't using it and it's so expensive.
Then I started planning and packing around it, and it has become one of four pieces of gear that I view as absolutely indispensable... my knife, my large fire steel, my silnylon poncho/tarp, and this canteen kit. With those, some cordage, and good clothes, I feel ready for anything.
Yes, it's one of the first things I will reach for come the zombie apocalypse, but I don't wait for that. Anyone who has seen my Instagrams will know it accompanies me on big and small adventures each month. What you don't see is that it's also my daily companion water bottle. That's because -- as with my knife and fire steel -- I am just not comfortable when I don't have it with me.

I love the weight savings of the Titanium over the steel canteens. No odd after tastes when drinking water. I like the ability to boil water right in the canteen. ALL I NEED NOW IS A NESTING TITANIUM COOK STOVE FOR THE CUP! WHEN WILL YOU MAKE IT!!!!!!

By far my favorite canteens I’ve ever owned I have two of these as I rely on these canteens in the field for survival I can boil water make and its titanium..

Amazing! It is rather strong than I thought. And the temperature goes up very quickly. Be careful when you touch the surface the canteen. It takes 10-13day for the international customer like me. Satisfied!

The only thing I had to buy was the canteen cup stove to finish out this kit. The Heavy Cover Canteen, cup and cover are made of great quality and should last a lifetime.

I've had mine on a few over nighters, a few day trips and a four night trip last week and I love it. Excellent size, light and durable. As long as I don't lose it, I'll never need another canteen/cook set!
