This canteen reminds me of the older and versatile, military metal canteens though without the weight. Light weight heavy cover canteen is more useful than plastic and nalgene; well designed and fabricated product for the outdoors. Good job HC!

Bombproof, Ultralight cook set that stores water, and saves space. What more could i ask for, way lighter than my SS kit's , and shaped to cook better than a round container, storing water to boot!

Search Is Over

My search has ended. I've looked for years for a light weight kit and carry. The canteen kit combined with the mother pouch fit the niche. I've heard "you spent how much?!, my grease pot works just fine, or this or that titanium is cheaper, etc." Looking at my stove, pot, and bag/pack collection out in the garage I realized that I could have bought 3 or 4 total kits and saved money! I imagine that if you have reached the point of reading the reviews, your garage probably looks the same. Buy it and forget it.
The only negative with the kit is that the vast majority of packs and bags with water bottle pockets will not accomodate the canteen.

After doing a lot of research regarding canteens and cook kits, I opted for the HC Titanium Mess Kit along with the Mother Canteen Carrier. I could not have made a better purchase. It is a very lite yet well made kit that will last me a lifetime. Well worth the cost!

Using/drinking from this canteen is a phenomenal tactile experience. It feels different in your hand or ruck from any other water carrier. It invites you to sip happily, making it easy to remember to stay hydrated. I live in a high altitude desert, often get too busy to remember to drink enough. This canteen bypasses all that, makes it a really nice break in any activity to take a couple sips ,admire it, stow it away. Doesn't stay put away long, it's nice to admire. A classic useful design, maxed out. My horse seems to like it as well.

I bought the heavy cover titanium set several months ago. I am very happy with this product. The canteen set replaced my stainless steel bottle set after the first use. This canteen is very light weight and compact. I can purify water by boiling it in the canteen over fire. The titanium material is so strong without any chemical smell. The lid on the canteen cup was also perfect for making a meal. I am very happy with the customer service with Heavy Cover Inc. The canteen set is very easy to clean and maintain. It will last a life time. Although it can be a little pricey, it is money well spent!

This kit is about half the weight of a similar size and quality stainless steel kit (22oz for stainless vs under 11oz for titanium). Fit and finish is excellent and material thickness makes for a really sturdy feel even though it's so light. Having "Kleen Canteen" top capability means a great proven no leak robust design and easy parts and maintenance capability. Titanium transfers heat really well so boiling water in the canteen or cup is really fast. Cooking in the cup is really efficient but because of the fast heat transfer you might need to cook at a lower heat to keep from burning. Wish they offered a nesting stove component too! Very pleased with this product and it will slowly be replacing the current family bottle and canteen kits over time as I buy more.
